Myth #1 — Oily skin doesn’t need a moisturizer – Wrong!

All skin like oily skin, dry skin, etc. needs a moisturizer. Actually your body produces oil to keep your skin healthy and supple. If you have oily skin i.e. very oily skin then the pores in your skin producing the oil are working more than what normal pores does.

If you wash your face a lot and are constantly stripping your face of its natural oils without using moisturizer, you might actually be making the problem worse!

Myth #2 — You need prescription medications to control acne – Wrong!

If you have bad acne and you’re worried about seeing a doctor, don’t worry! There are many alternative treatments for acne that you don’t have to go near a doctor’s office to use. Drug stores offer a huge variety of simple solutions ranging from masks to scrubs to astringents.

Even there are many homemade remedies and holistic products which you can use to treat acne. All you need to do is keep you skin clean and healthy by using these medicines.

Myth #3 – Acne treatments aren’t cheap — Wrong!

Some of the best acne treatments are actually free! Using a wet hot towel to open your pores before you wash your face can help tremendously. You can also wash your face right after a shower to get the same results. The hot water helps open up your pores which makes it a lot easier to get rid of oil and dirt. Also you don’t necessarily need an expensive soap and moisturizer to treat acne either. The cheaper stuff can work just as well as the expensive stuff. I have found that the two products I like best cost only $11 – for BOTH of them.

Myth #4 – Acne is only a problem for teens, not adults — Wrong!

Mainly adults and teens suffer from acne. For teenagers this actually attributed to hormonal changes, in adults acne might actually be a result of chemicals and diet, not only the hormones. Don’t give up hope; there are many ways of treatments through which you can get rid of acne.

Myth #5 – Tanning will get rid of your acne — Wrong!

Under the process of tanning it does changes the color and texture of your skin, it does NOT overcome of acne. Tan skin is darker in color and thicker than untanned skin, making the acne a lot harder to see. The process of tanning and spending too much of time in the sun will also dry out the skin and also it help you out in drying the acne- but it won’t solve the complete problem. Aside from not being a good treatment for acne, and more over tanning also damages your skin and may even more problem for your skin.
