The Fastest way I know to Relieve Your Painful Gout Attack

Take the medication your doctor prescribed for treating your gout. If you don’t have prescribed medication for your gout use an over-the-counter NSAID such as Ibuprofen .

Recommended dosage for treating an unforeseen gout attack.

Ibuprofen, over the counter variety, take 800 mg 4 times a day

Reduce the dosage as the attack subsides and eventually stop.

See your doctor as soon as possible for a steroid or non-steroidal injection, to quickly reduce the pain.

Remove the shoes, socks, or tight clothing from the attack area and avoid any stress or pressure on them.

Apply an anesthetic numbing spray, cream or lotion to the affected area, which will help to numb the pain, (such products can be purchased easily over the counter from any chemist, drug store).

Don’t use aspirin as it can worsen the gout attack.

Avoid all alcohol, any acidic foods and drinks, a low carb diet,orange juice,tomatoes,citrus fruits, red meat as they will make the condition worse and in many cases prolong the gout attack.

Try to consume at least 2 liters of mineral or filtered water every day.

Alkalize the body and increase the blood PH level to around 7, do this by mixing half a teaspoon of baking soda to a medium sized glass of mineral water and drink every 4 hours up to a maximum of 4 glasses per day. Baking soda, is the quickest way of alkalizing your body and also accelerates the urinary excretion of excess uric acid. Baking soda is also known to increases the effectiveness of NSAIDs.

Always get your doctor’s approval before trying this (ask your doctor in advance, just so you know it will be safe, if you do ever need to use this method).

Use ice to cool the effected joint & reduce swelling and pain.

Rest joint until gout has subsided or gone, premature use of the affected joint may prolong the attack.

Find out as much as you can about your gout condition to prevent and treat future attacks. Be prepared, gout often starts without warning. These methods are designed to tackle an acute and unbearable attack and are not the best way of treating and preventing gout in the long term.
